Healthy and Resilient Minds Project

The Healthy and Resilient Minds (HEREMI) project is an innovative initiative that harnesses digital education to strengthen mental health literacy, promote resilience, and support recovery across the mental health continuum. Rooted in the continuum and recovery model, HEREMI recognises that mental health exists on a spectrum—from positive wellbeing, through periods of distress, to diagnosable mental health conditions—and that recovery is possible at every stage. Through accessible online platforms, interactive resources, and evidence-based learning modules, HEREMI empowers individuals, families, and communities to build skills in self-care, peer support, and help-seeking, while reducing stigma and fostering hope.

  • Enhance mental health literacy: Improving knowledge and awareness of mental health, stress management, and resilience strategies using engaging digital tools.
  • Promote the continuum model: Educating communities about the mental health spectrum, normalising experiences of distress while highlighting opportunities for early intervention.
  • Support recovery pathways: Provide digital education and peer-informed resources that support recovery, focusing on personal strengths, hope, and empowerment.
  • Bridge service gaps: Using digital platforms to increase access to mental health education, especially in underserved communities with limited face-to-face support.
  • Build resilient communities: Encouraging collective responsibility for mental health and resilience by engaging schools, workplaces, caregivers, and community groups.

The continuum framework and recovery-focused education: Co-designed with people with lived experience to highlight real stories of recovery using different communication and media platforms. Resources that emphasise agency, hope, and pathways to regaining meaningful roles in life. Visual, easy-to-understand digital materials explaining how mental health shifts across the continuum. Practical strategies for recognising early signs of distress, supporting peers, and knowing when to seek professional help.

Community engagement: Webinars, discussion forums, and digital campaigns to promote dialogue and reduce stigma. Partnerships with schools, workplaces, and community organisations to embed HEREMI content into everyday environments.

Digital Learning modules: Interactive, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive online courses on topics such as stress management, resilience, recovery planning, and help-seeking. Delivered through mobile-friendly platforms, ensuring accessibility for diverse populations.

  • Increased community awareness of mental health as a continuum, not a binary of ‘well’ or ‘unwell.’
  • Improved confidence in recognising signs of distress and supporting early intervention.
  • Greater acceptance and uptake of recovery-oriented approaches in education, work, and community settings.
  • Reduction in stigma around mental health, particularly in relation to help-seeking.
  • Strengthened resilience and coping skills in individuals, contributing to healthier and more connected communities.
  • Young people in schools, universities, and digital spaces.
  • Employees and managers in workplace wellbeing programs.
  • Caregivers, families, and community leaders.
  • Individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges and those supporting their recovery.

The HEREMI project aims to establish a scalable, adaptable digital education model that can be tailored for different communities. By embedding the continuum and recovery model into digital learning, HEREMI seeks to build a long-term culture of resilience, inclusion, and recovery-oriented care that extends beyond the life of the project.
